Barley mutants reveal key to enhancing photosynthesis efficiency in crops.
Two barley photosystem I mutants were studied using EPR spectroscopy. One mutant had no photosystem I activity and lacked key EPR signals, while the other had reduced activity and lower levels of these signals. The mutants had missing or decreased polypeptides compared to normal photosystem I particles. Additionally, a photosystem II signal was detected in the mutants.
