Oil-bearing rocks are affected by pressure from the earth's overburden, potentially impacting their permeability. This study investigated how permeability changes with pressure, which could affect well productivity calculations. The experiments showed that neglecting this change in permeability can introduce errors in productivity estimates. The results suggest that the pressure on rocks underground can significantly impact their ability to flow oil.
