Revolutionizing desalination: Hydro-power slashes costs, making clean water accessible.
A new way to make seawater drinkable using hydro-power has been tested in Jordan and Egypt. By combining hydro-power with reverse osmosis, the cost of desalination can be reduced significantly. The estimated cost of turning brackish groundwater into drinkable water is 0.68 per cubic meter. This method could make desalination more affordable and energy-efficient in the Middle East.
