Democratizing Critical Theory: Bridging Modernity and Postmodernity for Social Change
Critical theory, inspired by Marx, aims to change the world by identifying conditions for emancipated living. Habermas focuses on rationality and democratic participation in decision-making. However, some feel that contemporary critical theory is disconnected from real-world issues, leading to a divide between modernity and postmodernity. Efforts are being made to bridge this gap and address concerns from both perspectives.
