New remote sensing method revolutionizes monitoring of paddy rice growth!
The study used MODIS data to track the growth of paddy rice in 2010 by analyzing four vegetation indices. They found that the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were strongly linked to Leaf Area Index (LAI), a measure of plant growth. The researchers determined that the Cubic model of EVI was the most accurate for predicting LAI, making EVI the best indicator for monitoring paddy rice growth.
