People are Terrible at Knowing How Others Perceive Them!
People can generally tell how others perceive them during social interactions, but they are not very accurate at predicting which partners see them in a certain way. People can notice changes in how others view them over time and can tell when different partners have different opinions about them. However, they tend to believe they are perceived similarly by everyone, even though partners actually have varying impressions of them. This suggests that people may not always be aware of the different impressions they convey to different individuals.
