High Nitrogen Levels Decrease Grain Yield in Rice Cultivation Methods.
The study looked at how different levels of nitrogen and cultivation methods affect the grain yield of upland and paddy rice. They grew two types of rice in fields with different nitrogen levels and cultivation methods. High nitrogen reduced grain yield for paddy rice but increased it for upland rice. Both types of rice had more productive tillers and different grain weights with higher nitrogen levels. Upland rice had fewer roots and lower yield compared to paddy rice, but responded better to nitrogen levels. The way the rice was grown also affected their yield and characteristics. Overall, nitrogen levels and cultivation methods had varying effects on upland and paddy rice.
