High seeding rates reduce grain sorghum yields in dryland conditions.
Seeding rates above 4 pounds per acre reduced grain sorghum yields in dryland conditions in southeastern Colorado. The RS 610 hybrid had the highest yield at a 2-pound seeding rate. Row spacings of 21 inches and 42 inches did not significantly affect yields when the same amount of seed was planted. Plant populations have a greater impact on yield than row spacings.
