New method uncovers buried bedrock valleys, revolutionizing geological exploration!
Researchers studied 41 sites in the Midwest to figure out how to tell if there's bedrock under the ground affecting the landscape. They found that when the average thickness of the dirt on top is more than half the height of the highest rock sticking out, plus 10 meters, then there's probably bedrock shaping the land. This formula could help find hidden valleys in the ground.
