The researchers developed a model using GIS to evaluate drought hazard in GharehAghaj basin in Iran. They gathered data from government sources and created maps based on various indicators like weather, water, and social factors. The final map showed that most of the basin has a moderate risk of drought, with only a small area facing severe risk in the Southeast.
