Invasive species threaten biodiversity in Côte d’Ivoire’s Taabo Lake.
Taabo Lake in Côte d’Ivoire has been invaded by aquatic plants, causing ecological issues. A study was done to look at the benthic macroinvertebrates living in the lake. Samples were taken from four different spots in the lake over a year. They found 29 different types of benthic macroinvertebrates, with insects being the most common. This information can help create a way to monitor the health of lakes and man-made reservoirs in Côte d’Ivoire.
