A fully glazed facade can help save energy by letting in sunlight, but too much sun can make a building too hot. This study looked at a new kind of facade that can shade itself without blocking too much light or view. The facade can change position to let in more or less sun. The researchers found that this dynamic facade can save energy compared to other types of facades. They calculated how much energy it could save and figured out the best way to set it up.
