Maize farmers in Ethiopia benefit from SG 2000 project efficiency.
The study compared maize farmers in eastern Ethiopia, some in a program called Sasakawa-Global 2000 and others not in the program. They used data from the 1995/96 agricultural year to analyze the farmers' technical efficiency. Farmers in the SG 2000 project were found to be more efficient in producing maize compared to those outside the project. This means that farmers in the program were able to produce more maize using the same resources as farmers not in the program.
