A modified protein test called the Bradford assay was developed to accurately measure collagen proteins in samples. By adding a small amount of SDS to the dye used in the test, the color response for collagen proteins increased while decreasing for other proteins. This modification allows for more accurate protein measurements in samples rich in collagen, like pancreatic extracts.
