Optimal Protein Levels Boost Growth of Freshwater Prawns in Outdoor Tanks
The researchers tested different protein levels in the diets of freshwater prawns to see how it affected their growth and efficiency. They found that prawns fed a diet with 35% protein had the highest weight gain, while those fed diets with 25% and 45% protein had lower weight gain. The protein efficiency ratio decreased as the protein level in the diet increased. This study suggests that freshwater prawns need a diet with 35% protein for optimal growth.
