Storing Natural Gas as Hydrates Could Revolutionize Energy Transport
The researchers found that adding multi-walled carbon nanotubes to water can significantly increase the amount of methane gas consumed during artificial methane hydrate formation. By using a small amount of MWCNTs, the gas consumption was 300% higher compared to pure water, and the time needed for hydrate formation was reduced. This method could help improve the efficiency of storing and transporting natural gas in the form of hydrates.
