Revolutionary Plant Regeneration Technique Boosts Crop Yield and Quality!
Protoplasts from leaves and cotyledons of Lotus corniculatus and Trifolium repens were used to grow plants in a lab setting. Agarose helped the protoplasts grow better. More plants were successfully grown from Lotus corniculatus colonies compared to Trifolium repens. A specific culture line of Trifolium repens improved the success rate of plant regeneration. One abnormal plant from Trifolium repens had a wide range of chromosome numbers.
