The relationship between ridge regression and continuum regression has been extended to include a wider range of regression methods. By allowing the ridge parameter to be negative, the trajectory between ordinary least squares and partial least squares regressions can now be explored. This new approach opens up possibilities for a more comprehensive understanding of regression techniques, including principal component regression.
