Crop Rotation Boosts Corn and Soybean Yields, Revolutionizing Farming Practices.
Rotating corn and soybean crops can increase their yield. A study looked at different cropping patterns over 9 years and found that rotating corn and soybean annually resulted in better yields compared to growing them in monoculture. Alternating different cultivars each year also had a positive impact on yield. Corn did better in the first year of planting, while soybean did better when not grown continuously. The study suggests that a cropping sequence with at least three different crops would be best for maximizing yield in Minnesota.
