Hormones Discovered to Suppress Thyroid Function, Raising Metabolism Concerns
The study looked at how growth hormone-releasing hormone (GRH) and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) affect the release of a hormone called thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) in the rat brain. They found that both GRH and CRH can reduce the release of TRH from the rat brain in a dose-dependent manner. This suggests that GRH and CRH have an inhibitory effect on TRH release in the rat brain when studied in a lab setting.
