Structural Adjustment Programs in Ghana Push Real Estate Prices Beyond Reach
Structural Adjustment Programs in Ghana from 1983 to 1998 affected housing affordability in Accra. The study looked at how these programs impacted the production, delivery, and cost of housing. By analyzing market data, it was found that policies like currency devaluation and interest rate hikes led to significant increases in real estate prices. As a result, many people in Ghana could no longer afford housing due to these changes.
