Highland and lowland grasslands in Natal show distinct differences.
The researchers studied grasslands in the Three Rivers area, Natal, by looking at different grass species in 20 quadrats at each of 20 sites. They used Wisconsin ordination, principal components ordination, and normal association analysis to analyze the data. The results showed that highland grassland is different from lowland grassland, and there are also subdivisions within lowland grassland. This suggests that a more detailed analysis could create a useful vegetation map with clear boundaries.
