New research reveals how light affects oat seedling growth and color!
The researchers studied how different types of light affect the growth of chlorophyll in oat seedlings. They found that red light helps both types of chlorophyll grow, while far red light only helps one type. The effect of red light can be reversed by far red light if applied soon after. This shows that two types of phytochrome, labile and stabile, play a role in stimulating chlorophyll growth.
