Prosopagnosia patients can unconsciously learn new faces, study finds.
A person with face blindness was shown new faces and asked to pick which ones they had seen before and which ones they liked. Even though they couldn't recognize the faces, they still preferred the ones they had seen before. This shows that some people with face blindness can still learn new faces without realizing it. It's like their brain remembers the faces even if they can't consciously recognize them.
