Cohabitation boosts health for older adults, marriage not always best.
The study looked at how being in a relationship affects health over time. They found that being married doesn't always mean better health. Living together benefits the health of men and women over 45, while being single doesn't necessarily harm health. Divorce may slightly affect the health of younger men. The researchers also discovered that factors related to health that can't be seen may affect the results. This new method can be used for other research questions with complex variables.
