Continuous coring across different rock formations is crucial for understanding oil reservoirs. Traditional coring methods are costly due to multiple trips needed for each core run. To reduce costs, a new extended coring technique was developed and successfully applied in the UAE. This method allows for longer core lengths to be obtained in fewer trips, saving time and money. By using extended coring, drilling costs can be optimized while still obtaining valuable geological information from the cores.
