Cation exchange capacity (CEC) in soil can be estimated using soil texture and organic matter content. A study in the south of Iran found that CEC can be predicted accurately by looking at the percentages of clay, sand, and organic matter in the soil. This method can save time and money compared to directly measuring CEC.
