A new model called Negative Binomial Factor Analysis was developed to analyze data on frequencies. The model uses two groups of hidden variables to represent different aspects of the data. The first group describes general characteristics shared by subjects, while the second group is specific to each observed variable. By applying this model, researchers can estimate parameters using a special algorithm and define the reliability of each variable.
