The article discusses different types of alignment between IT and business strategies, infrastructures, and processes. The researchers identified six types of alignment and developed definitions and measures for each. They collected data from 140 Chief Information Officers and found that each measure had good properties. This study helps clarify the confusion in the literature and provides a unified model for understanding IT-business strategic alignment.
