Coagulated roughing filter removes 99% turbidity from polluted water.
Researchers studied a water treatment process at Khokhar Zar Dam in Pakistan to improve turbidity and biological pollution. They tested a three-stage up-flow roughing filter in plain and coagulated modes. Results showed that coagulated filtration removed 99% of turbidity with less coagulant compared to the treatment plant. The filter remained effective even after the coagulant supply was stopped.
