Apple trees in Chile were studied to see if reducing their height affected fruit yield and quality. Trees were cut to different heights, but all produced the same amount of fruit. Shorter trees needed less labor to harvest and had good fruit quality. This means that apple trees can be managed at a lower height without affecting the amount or quality of the fruit they produce.
