Organic + inorganic fertilizers boost tomato growth, yield, and soil health.
A study was conducted to see how different combinations of organic and inorganic nutrients affect tomato growth and soil health. The researchers found that using a mix of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers improved plant growth, yield, and soil nutrient levels compared to using only one type of nutrient. The best results were seen with a combination of farmyard manure, vermicompost, and NPK fertilizer. This combination led to taller plants, more leaves, earlier flowering, more fruit clusters, heavier fruits, and higher yields. The soil pH was closest to neutral and had the highest organic matter content with vermicompost application. Additionally, the highest levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium were found with a mix of NPK fertilizer and vermicompost.
