Geothermal energy revolutionizes district heating in Hungary, slashing costs and emissions.
Geothermal energy can play a bigger role in heating buildings in Hungary. Using thermal water can replace natural gas and lower heating costs. The main heat source will be geothermal energy, with gas boilers as backup. A large geothermal district-heating system in Szentes already supplies four districts with thermal water, achieving 32000 GJ/a heat usage.
