The article presents a new way to show how software evolves and gets affected by bugs. They used versioning systems like CVS and bug reporting systems like Bugzilla to study large software systems. By visually comparing the evolution of software with the bugs it has, they were able to understand how software changes over time. They tested this method on 3 big open source software systems.
