The researchers measured the force needed to operate a stubble cultivator on different types of soil. They used a setup with two tractors and a load cell to measure the force. The cultivator was tested on sandy and clayey soil at different speeds and depths. They found that the force required was about 30% higher in clayey soil compared to sandy soil. They also observed that the quality of tillage varied between the two soil types.
