New study reveals breakthrough in analyzing chemical compounds for potential applications.
The researchers studied the mass spectra of a chemical compound called N-carbonyldihydrazones of 2,4-diacetylresorcinol using two different methods. They found that the methane chemical ionization mass spectra showed a variety of ions, including the protonated molecular ion and other ions. On the other hand, the electron impact mass spectra displayed weak molecular ions and showed the breaking of a specific chemical bond in the compound.
