New hybrid method accelerates laser penetration in biological tissues.
Researchers have developed a new method to simulate how laser light travels through skin tissue. By combining the accuracy of the Monte Carlo method with the speed of the diffusion method, they created a hybrid model that is faster and more accurate than previous techniques. This hybrid method is five times faster than the Monte Carlo method and can accurately predict how laser light penetrates biological tissues. This new approach could be useful for treatments like photo dynamic therapy and optical imaging.
