New study reveals potential for increased agricultural productivity in Ankara-Turkey
The study aimed to figure out how to best use the land at Bala Agricultural Farm in Ankara, Turkey. Researchers looked at the soil and found 23 different types. They used a system to evaluate the land for different uses like farming and non-farming. Most of the land was good for farming, with 70% suitable for irrigated crops and 76% for non-irrigated crops. They classified the land based on how well it could be used for farming, with 5.64% being top-quality farmland, 50.98% being pretty good for crops, 16.38% being okay for crops, 14.28% not good for farming right now, and 12.72% not for farming at all.
