Rice husk briquettes outperform in reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency
Rice husk charcoal briquettes were made by mixing rice husk charcoal with other types of biomass like bagasse, rice straw, and water hyacinth. The more rice husk charcoal used, the denser and stronger the briquettes became. The rice husk-bagasse briquette had the highest density, strength, and toughness. When burned, the rice husk-bagasse briquette produced the hottest flue gas, followed by the rice husk-rice straw and rice husk-water hyacinth briquettes. The amount of CO and NO in the exhaust gas was not affected much by the mixing ratio.
