Automated vehicles can crash, and when they do, their decisions can involve moral considerations. It's challenging to program complex human morals into software effectively. Researchers suggest a three-phase approach to develop ethical crashing algorithms: a rational approach, an artificial intelligence approach, and a natural language requirement.
