Boron application boosts tomato yield and fights blossom end rot
Boron is a crucial nutrient for tomato plants, and its deficiency can lead to issues like blossom end rot. A study looked at how applying boron to boron-deficient soil affected different forms of boron in tomatoes. They tested different amounts of boron applied to the soil and leaves. The results showed that applying 20 kg of boron per hectare led to the highest levels of different boron forms in the plants. The majority of the boron in the plants was found in a form called residual boron. As the tomato plants grew, the levels of boron in different forms decreased.
