Cattle ranges in southern Arizona can produce more grass and beef with better grazing management. Previous studies showed that controlling mesquite plants can increase grass growth, but this hasn't been tested on a larger scale. A new study found that changing grazing practices on cleared and mesquite-infested areas led to more forage and higher carrying capacity within 5 years.
