East Asian Studies Program Promotes Cultural Understanding Across Diverse Traditions.

A new field called East Asian Science, Technology and Society (EASTS) is being developed, but its perspectives are not clear yet. To improve EASTS, it's important for people in East Asia to understand each other better. By analyzing keywords in two science journals, researchers found that different topics and fields are being focused on in each journal's community. This shows that there are challenges in enhancing mutual understanding through science and technology in East Asia. Colleagues from East Asia were asked to join a project to learn more about the characteristics of East Asian science and technology and to suggest ideas for future collaboration.
