Peri Stream Zooplankton Study Reveals Dominant Species and Seasonal Changes
The researchers studied zooplankton in Peri Stream from April 2009 to March 2010. They found 10 species of Rotifera, 3 species of Cladocera, and 2 species of Copepoda and Nauplius larvae. Rotifera was the most common group, with Keratella cochlearis, Ceriodaphnia reticulata, and Cyclops vicinus being dominant species. Spring had the highest species diversity and number of individuals, while winter had the lowest. This study marks the first record of these zooplankton species in Peri Stream.
