Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) systems use bilingual data to translate languages. The better the data used, the better the translation. This study used the Moses toolkit to create a German-English translator. By providing a large parallel corpus of German and English sentences, the researchers were able to train the Moses decoder for accurate translations. The more data used for training, the more accurate the translations produced.
