New test identifies future soccer stars based on agility and endurance
The study aimed to identify talented soccer players by testing various physical, mental, and soccer-specific skills in young players. Elite players were found to be faster, more agile, have better endurance, and possess higher aerobic power compared to sub-elite players. They also showed better anticipation skills and had a more positive ego orientation. Elite players were leaner, more tolerant of fatigue, and better at dribbling the ball. The study suggests that this comprehensive test battery can help identify young players for specialized development programs.
