Polycentric urban planning revolutionizes European spatial policies for the future
The EURBANET project studied how polynucleated urban regions in Europe can strengthen competitiveness and quality of life through transnational spatial planning. Researchers from various universities analyzed four urban regions and found that moving between different scales of planning is crucial. They highlighted the importance of polycentricity in European spatial and economic planning discussions. The study suggests that integrating spatial policies through a spatial network approach is essential for effective planning in urban networks and transnational governance.
