The article presents a method to estimate parameters for different treatment groups that share the same distribution but have different values. The method uses maximum likelihood estimation and the Newton‐Raphson method to calculate the estimators. The researchers suggest using the maximum likelihood ratio test to determine if common estimation is possible. The procedure is demonstrated in a probit analysis.
