Deeper sowing depth boosts wheat yield by up to 62.5%! đž
Different sowing depths affect wheat grain yield and components. Wheat with longer coleoptiles gives higher yields. Wheat sown at 5 cm depth yields more than at 3, 7, or 9 cm. The Alparslan cultivar at 5 cm depth had the highest yield. Sowing at 9 cm depth reduced yields, except for Tir and Alparslan varieties with longer coleoptiles.
