The article discusses a new way to manage product relationships to improve product development processes. By using a novel approach called product relationships management, it allows for concurrent product design and assembly planning. This method helps to address various viewpoints of stakeholders involved in the design and assembly phases. The researchers developed a new application called PEGASUS, which helps to control information flow and externalize product relationships. The approach was tested with a mechanical assembly case study and showed promising results in improving product lifecycle management.
